Telkom is just another network provider that doesn't care about its customers.

I mistakenly bought / sent R260 airtime to my old Telkom sim that I use to use for my home router. I recently got a new sim card because I had not used the old one for a few months. Today I sent the airtime to that old one by mistake. Once I realized my error I called Telkom for help reversing or transferring the airtime to my new Telkom sim so I can convert it into data. The consultants on the phone were no help. One of the people I spoke to (Mbali) ended up speaking over me telling me not to shoot the messenger as I was clearly frustrated and distraught (R260 is a lot of money to me right now in my life). Basically I ended up calling again and asking to speak to a supervisor who, like the 2 people I'd spoken to before her, also said they cannot do anything. The part that really frustrates me is that they can see the R260 and the number doesn't belong (hasn't been allocated) to anyone. I cannot for the life of me understand WHY it cannot be reversed or transferred. I even offered to send my bank statement with my ID to show that I am the one who bought the airtime but was told that "its their policy" to not return or transfer airtime. It's literally sitting somewhere on their servers and they tell me they cannot help me. I'm pretty sure this is an issue IT could sort out with no hassle but Telkom has made it clear that they will not be helping me in this regard. I am self employed and looking for a job so that airtime was going to be used to buy data for my router to try and figure out what to do work wise and help with my job searching. I feel defeated. Yes, I made the mistake, but I don't understand why it's so difficult to return or transfer it. Telkom is a mobile network provider so I fail to understand why this cannot be done.
