Telkom is broken
I am now at my end!! I have been battling with a line that has been running between 0.00mps and 0.062mps since 20 December. At times it will spike up to 3.6mps and stay there for a day or two and then drop again. Since the 10th April it has been at it's worst. Yet for all my reference numbers and all my calls and complaints it still remains the same. Your customer care agents all spin the same line of "we will escalate the issue" and then spew out another reference number. No manager is ever available to speak to. When they apparently put me through, i get cut off. I have had 7 sets of technical guys from Openserv come out since I first called on 20 December. One guy told me that I must let the ports settle for 10 days and see if it works!!! Are we now baking a cake???? The next guy told me to replace my router. I told him I had it checked at Telkom and its working and he told me that they do not have the special machine he has. I then replaced it at my cost and nothing changed!!!!!!!!!! On Wednesday 15 May I had the initial guy come out that first responded in December, and he said that the issue is between the exchange and another box and that the voltage on the line is wrong. Ref ********** 7 20 December. (I do not have two reference numbers for the times) Ref ********** 1 10 April closed on the 16 April by tech. Reopened by me on 18 April as it was not working. Ref ********** 9 spoke to Ayanda 02 May, Inkle 07 May, Molelo 10 May (Said Bheki would call me as he is the manager... never happened) Unati 15 May and he put me through Bheki. He gave me his Cell number ( ********** 230 and email address ********** I called Bheki two days later to complain that nothing was being done, and he told me that the case had been closed as there was a technician that went to my place and he sorted the problem. While we were on the phone i called my wife and put her on speaker asking her if anyone had been the day before. She said no. Your technician is a ****. I then gave him my line speed of 0.94mps. He said he would call me back. Sent him a mail, got no reply. He has yet to call me back. Called him now and the phone is off. Ref ********** 2 Nandipa 20 May, Called in 24 May and spoke to Michelle. Once i started to explain the problem she cut me off. Ref ********** 2 24 May Luciano. He now took all the information down for what feels like the millionth time. supp**** me with a shinny new worthless reference number.
I now have the unmistakable issue of tediously having to go another weekend without the agreed upon and paid for speeds that Telkom lead me to believe I would be getting only so they could stick their grubby little paws into my bank account and take what 'Contractually is not being fulfilled' remuneration for their “services”
Somehow I don’t think the Consumer Commission will agree that this is legal, fare or ethical.
I Received a message from Telkom in April telling me that i will get a rebate on my cost as they have picked up an interruption on the service. According to the message this will go off on the 11 June. I. pay you on time, why are you dragging your feet on this. Supplying the service I pay for and 2. Giving the credit based on the 5 months of inconsistent service!! This constant nonsense of taking money for services not rendered correctly is a load of *******! This is not acceptable. I have been without proper access since just before 10 April and have been limping on speeds much less than what I pay for!
To say that Telkom service is horrible, would be to claim that there was service to begin with. It would be easier and more truthful to say that you don't give a rats butt about your clients, as long as the money keeps on rolling in. Maybe, this will get some traction, cause i have no other words to explain the level of interest that Telkom is not giving!!
