Telkom is a *****, dressed in a very shiny suit!
I wish I had the option for -1! Pathetic service.
I was called by a company called Mobile Talk in May. I spoke to a gentleman called Ugesh Pillay and he sold me a wifi router with unlimited wifi and a Hisense cellphone for R209 a month. I asked him if there was a catch - because it was all sounding too good to be true - and if the Hisense was a seperate contract and he said it was a combo. The phone came with the router. I could, "sell the phone if I don't want it". I asked if I could get just the router, to which he responded by saying I couldn't have 1 without the other. So I proceeded with the contract.
When I got the devices, I called Telkom with the intention to activate. When I asked for details regarding the contract, I was informed of the following; 1. It was 2 separate contracts 2. The wifi router came with 1 gig of data and not unlimited like I was informed. Can you imagine??? From Unlimited to 1 gig! Lol
Anyway...I proceeded to call Mobile talk to request that they take the devices back. They came to collect. I called them back to ensure that no contract was activated. The guy at Mobile talk told me the devices were received and the order was cancelled on their end, I just needed to call Telkom, which is you guys, to ensure that contracts are cancelled. If my memory serves me right, I called through to advise of same.
I called you guys on the 26th of June, because my account had been debited and it turns out, the contracts were not cancelled. The lady I spoke to talked me through the process of logging a cancellation online; > *** - ref ***9 > *** - ref ***0
I was then called by Celeste from the Retentions department and she processed my cancellation and offered me a better plan. I agreed to the 10 gigs for R170. She then sent me an email stating that she was awaiting confirmation from the courier regarding my new wifi router to finalise the cancellation.
I sent Celeste emails on the 27th and 28th of June requesting feedback and she ghosted me. Lol. So I asked her to cancel everything instead.
I then call through to your call centre requesting an update on everything on the 8th of July and eventually spoke to one of your supervisors, Boitumelo Koapeng. She helped process the cancellations and request "refunds" - lol - for the 2 instances I was debited. I was in contact with her from that point until the 28th of August, when she too decided to ghost me. Lol.
I called into the call centre, not sure of the date, trying to speak to her and I was advise that she was based at a different call centre. The gentleman I spoke to advised that he would send her an email and request that she give me a call. Needless to say, dololo phone call.
I then called in on the 17th of September to START THE PROCESS OVER. The lady I spoke to advised that only a credit on the penalty was passed and no refund was requested (THANKS BOITUMELO KOAPENG), so she logged a new request for me and advised me that it would be "finalised within 72hrs".
I then called this morning trying to inquire on the status of my claim. I spoke to PEACE NOMVALO and TSHEPO MO***ENG, who both kept advising me that the billing department has a 72 hr TAT and then Tshepo went as far as mentioning that the refund could take anything between 7 and 10 working days to be processed. Proper hogwash, legit nonsense and utter *******! I can not wait DRIE ***KEN MAANDE for me to be told to wait until the 3rd of October for my refund.
I asked Tshepo to flex his managerial muscles and make a plan for me because this is BEYOND ridiculous! He advised me that he called through to the billing department and that manager - no name was provided - PROMISED that I would be called within 3 hours. IT HAS BEEN 5 HOURS!!!!!
I genuinely don't have much to say, but can I please have that measly R469 that you guys, technically, stole from my account. That can't possibly be too much to ask for :)
