TELKOM IS A MAFIA OPERATION
In or about August last year I switched my Internet service from my previous service provider to Telkom Internet on the same terms as my last provider. Telkom offered me a package of R449 for unlimited data usage on a month-to-month basis. We agreed to a collection of the amount via a Debit Order against my business account. There were no problems from September 2023 until April 2024 when a Debit Order was returned unpaid by my bank. This was an error on the part of the bank, but the unpaid item was corrected on the same day via EFT from the same account. However, Telkom raised a penalty of R207,35 on the item in the following month of June 2024. This penalty must not have been raised as the unpaid item was settled via an EFT Payment on the same day. Due to this action, the monthly payment of R449 became unaffordable to me as a Pensioner and I gave notice to terminate our agreement with effect from 1 July 2024. The amount of R656,35 was duly settled at the end of June 2024 and I appointed another Internet Service Provider with better terms than Telkom from 1 July 2024. My problem with Telkom is that they now claim that I owe them R1105,35 apparently for June and July 2024. I definitely do not have any means at my disposal to pay for the terrible service that I have received from Telkom throughout our agreement
