Telkom is a disgrace

Telkom is a sorry excuse of a company. It's no wonder that their rating on hello peter is one star (which is one too many) and the company recently reported a loss of 36% (https://www.iol.co.za/business-report/companies/telkom-reports-36-plunge-in-h1-profit-***4). My story is the same as so many others, so I'll summarise in the hope that someone from Telkom who cares (if there is someone like that left in the company) will contact me and try and listen to me without simply regurgitating the classic line "there's nothing that we can do". I upgraded my fibre package to a higher softcap at the middle of July 2019. I was told that it would be instantaneous (I also checked my profile, which showed the details of the new package); however, the next month I was charged by Telkom for the data which I surpassed my previous softcap limit, but was still within my 'new' limit. I logged a dispute, Telkom said I used the data, and I logged a dispute again. This cycle continued until I was told on the 6th of November that my account will be credited with the amount in question. There was hope. However, Telkom subsequently froze my account, and when I called them on the 28th of November to query this, I was simply told that I owed them money, and that the account would only be unlocked after I paid the outstanding amount. This Telkom operator even asked for my Telkom password to check my account! When I refused, she suddenly was able to confirm that my account was frozen. This company is a disgrace, just like all the other South African companies which are used as political tools by the government to create jobs.
