Telkom is a ****
On the 19th of March 2025 I received an SMS advising that my account is in arrears of double the amount I usually owe. I ignored the SMS because the Debit order for the month had gone through at the end of the previous month. After a few more similar SMS's I opted to call Telkom to find out what was going on. I spoke to a Relebogile Onthatile Mogotsi. She advised me that in fact their system was reflecting my account to be in arrears and requested my bank statement to assist me in escalating the matter. I sent the statement to her along with Telkom's Invoice for the month of March ( which clearly indicates that the month's money was debited and thus my account is in good standing). She forwarded the mail onto Documents-TM@telkom; advising that I should be assured that I will be contacted shortly and included a reference number ( This was an entire day later while Telkom is having a field trip with debiting my account as they wish). I called once again and spoke to a Thami Majola who advised that he was assisting in escalating the matter and that his supervisor would call me back to resolve the matter. 3 days later and I have been disconnected and debited double the amount. I am currently on hold and the agent did not disclose his name. He advised that he would get back to me as he wanted to speak to his team leader. It has been 30 minutes of holding and he keeps putting me off hold and then back on hold when he realizes that I have not hung up. Telkom, your customer service is appalling. The call centre agents are clueless about their own internal processes and hide behind the guise of "escalating" because they think they sound like they know the meaning of the word when they infact don't even know what it entails. Train your staff, consider your customers and fix your processes. After 45 minutes, Neo Thabane returned to the call and advised that he escalated the matter and that I should expect a call back from his supervisor Onesimo Seheri. I Await
