Telkom invoice for non-existing service
I called Telkom in May 2018 to cancel my "SmartBroadband" service. They directed me to the online submission form which I completed and scanned back to them.
To be prudent I called Telkom again on 11 June 2018 (spoke to Mamohale Letsoalo) to make sure that they received the notice and that they will disconnect the service and cease to charge me from July. They sent me an email on 11 June to confirm the request with the following message "Request number for service to be cancelled ********** 492 : ********** 5".
When July arrived I noticed that Telkom did not undertake the cancellation and billing as they were suppose to do.
I then called Telkom on 1 August 2018 and spoke to Koketso Baloyi who could see all the correspondence on my account and that Mamohale Letsoale was suppose to cancel the account. I also requested through Koketso that they return the R303.69 that they charged me for July as the service was disconnected and not in use from 1 July. Koketso then sent (and cc me) an email to Mamohale Letsoale requesting that he do the necessary -- to date and after follow-ups Mamohale has not bothered to provide feedback and confirm that he has now cancelled the service and returned the amount of R303.69 that Telkom erroneously charged me for July.
Very poor service and this is one of the reasons I terminated my contract with Telkom.
