Telkom - internal customer data Theft
I have a mobile contract, use a modem at home, supp**** on the initial contract. My contract is now for 10GB day and 10GB night time data bundle. In September 2017, Telkom had connectivity problems/no access to data round about 10 Sep 2017. I took my modem to Telkom to try and solve, why the device is not connecting. They checked at the walk-in centre, if the device works and if the sim card is working. No problem with either. They then contacted their IT division which said they have a "systems down" issue, and requested I wait 24 hrs and then try to log on again. I did that, 24 hrs later, it worked. My balance on the data was 8.27 GB day time left for the month. Two days later, their services were down again. When they came back on air, my data had dropped down to 5.7GB day time remaining for the month. On the morning of 13 September 2017, when I logged on to check the balance, all the data had been depleted. IMPOSSIBLE -TELKOM IS *****ING MY DATA AND MAKING ME LOOK LIKE THE IDIOT THAT DOESN'T KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. We get through the whole month on the 10GB day time data. Between the 4 devices linked to the wifi, not even 4 GB was used. Of which, whenever we do an app update or laptop update, this is done on the night time data. When we checked the night time balance it was still sitting at 9.7GB data remaining.
I logged a complaint AGAIN with Telkom at the Walk - in centre, they say takes 4-7 working days to be attended to. After a month of no feedback, not even on the app, I had to go to the Walk - in centre, and guess what.....they logged another complaint. hughghghghghghgh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can not talk to anybody face to face to sort out this problem. Everything lands in a queing system only to get lost or forgotten. There is no customer service, product knowledge or the extra mile to assist the client that is paying for a service, not getting it, and that customer is one of the reasons they still get paid at the end of the month. No pride in their work whatsoever. On 13 September, I then had to buy a once off bundle to be able to continue working from home via internet. Asking before purchase, the period this bundle is valid for, I was told, 30 days. No here is the catch. When 1 October arrived, the contract data kicked in, not using the remaining once off data, but using the contract data. Spot the problem? They expect me to use up all my contract data, before I can use the once off data again, and the once off data would expire 13 October 2017. This means, from 1 October, I have to use my 10GB daytime contract data till finished, before 13 October, in order to use the balance once off data, before this expires on 13 October. Then again, I am in the middle of the month, without any data. What to do now? In this whole process I spoke to a Dudu at the Woodlands Boulevard Branch in Pretoria every time. She kept on promising to contact me with feedback, three times, this never happened. As far as I am concerned, this case is far from being solved, but according to Telkom, this query is now closed. I received a excel spreadsheet from their IT department in my inbox, with the usage of the data. Really, I can see the data has been used, but I DID NOT USE THIS DATA. My device is secure. I had this same issue with the biggest mobile service provider 8 years ago, and with lots of fighting, their ***** department acknowledged that my account was " HACKED" from within their company. I was refunded the money. Telkom just turns a blind eye and a deaf ear. True as Hell,,,,,the same thing happened again this week. Again the 13th of November. I don't even want to start this whole exercise again. I now want to cancel my contract, BECAUSE TELKOM ARE THEIVES. Penalty fee: R800 and R800 for the device......hughghghghgh, The device is almost 4 years old. When I mentioned this, the answer, twice, from different branches, was: OH OK, then just pay the R800 penalty for cancellation of the contract.
This is what service and customer service has been diminished to in this beautiful country of ours. Thank you to each and every company out there, that actually believe that their customer is their most important source of income and therefor need to be treated with respect and kindness.
