Telkom insists on ignoring me
I have been unemployed since July 2023 and have been paying for my contracts via EFT or at a Shoprite or Pick n Pay. I have made the following requests; 1. For my debit order to be cancelled - but they (call centre agents and twitter page respondents) have refused to help because they aren't allowed to. Even though I'm making manual payments and they constantly debit an empty account and charge me a fee for the bounced debit order. 2. For an updated statement or any document confirming the receipt of the recent manual payment made - I'm told that I can only receive the monthly invoice, they confirm verbally that they can see the payment on my account yet my line is suspended due to the missed debit order. 3. For copies of my contracts - I am requested to travel to the store where I got the device and request for the contract from them.
I desperately need these issues resolved and yet the call centre and twitter page people insist on not being able to assist me and refusing to help me with escalating the matter. My bank account is in a negative balance with all the rejected debits and I'm still paying an extra +R200 to Telkom for a rejected debit order and a bank fee for a rejected debit order. Please tell me how this is fair when I try my hardest to ensure that the payments are made on or before the debit order date as I was once advised by one of the call centre agents. Making this complaint with the call centre and on the twitter page has yielded no outcome. Where do I go?
