Around the 20th of December there was two thunderstorms in Pietermaritzburg. Trees fell and it was quiet a violent storm. A tree landed on our telephone lines on Anne Stafford Road which resulted in us not having phone lines and internet connections. The lines snapped. We immediately reported these faults to telkom along with other neighbors affected.
On the 31st of December we were told that the problem was fixed, without anyone coming out to physically fix the lines. As they said it was a technical problem. It was not fixed as we still did not have telephone lines or internet. We have reported it daily since with no response. Last week we saw a telkom service contractor in our area and physically showed him the problem which he said he would report as this was not his service area.
So three weeks later still no response or action taken.
There is no excuse for a fault not being restored in 3 weeks. Some of us run businesses from home. We were told that the problem was restored without any technician even coming out. This is pathetic service. We need answers.
