Telkom Inefficient
On the 21st of December there was a strong thunderstorm in Pietermaritzburg. A tree was blown down and landed on the telephone line on Anne Stafford RD(No service in Marriot RD and may be the case in other areas) , the result was the line snapped and the two telephone poles were pulled down. This was reported on the automatic service within a few days and also reported verbally by myself, neighbors and others.
We were advised there was a technical problem, i do not think they were listening and blaming it on a technically problem rather than a physical problem. On the 31st of December they advised us the problem was fixed despite the lines and poles still being down. We have reported it since multiple times with no SMS response. Last week we spotted a Telkom service contractor and showed him the problem. He told us he did not service the area but will report it.
We so far have not seen anyone visit the area where the pole lines have fallen down.
I find the service pathetic. We've had an occasion a few years ago where it took them ten weeks to fix a problem, with multiple pathetic excuses and only successful after complaining on hellopeter.
