Telkom Inefficiency: Service Cancelled in June yet Just Received an August Invoice!

I am at my wits end with Telkom. In May I installed fibre in my home, and so I decided to cancel my Telkom service -both my phone number and the ADSL subscription.

I did this online on the 30th June 2019 at 11h01 exactly as required with all my relevant documents (eg ID etc) uploaded and I received the following reference number: ***. I have a screenshot of the page with the reference number if required. I did the cancellation on 30th June, so as to give the required 30/31 days notice period required for cancellation. According to the Telkom website, somebody would phone me in the next few days to confirm the cancellation. By the 23rd July this hadn't happened and so I phoned Telkom to follow up. I was told all was in order and that somebody would still call before the end of the month. However, by 30th July nobody had phoned.

So, on 30 July 2019 at 11h24 I once again called the Telkom helpline and spoke to Chuma Jora to confirm my cancellation and enquire why nobody had called me. Chuma Jora said she would escalate my problem to the FRE division (fixed retentions escalation) and would ensure that my service cancellation was backdated to the correct day of 30 June 2019. I was assured that everything was in order and that my bill for July would be the last one and as from end July/August the service would be cancelled. However, this has not happened and I have just received an August invoice from Telkom. I point blank refuse to pay this, when I have done everything correctly from my side, and the error lies wholly with Telkom and their inefficiency. I would like a response from Telkom to confirm cancellation of my service and that my August account will be cancelled.
