TELKOM INCOMPETENCE CONTINUES
I cancelled my ADSL service on 4 April 2018 and Telkom acknowledged receiving it on more than one occasion. They however continue to bill me for it and it seems impossible to get them to get this sorted despite many efforts from my side. To speak to their helplines (in any format) proves to be as fruitful as speaking to a wall - the wall is just more responsive.
I decided to not pay them anymore as maybe someone will then wrote to me and I can respond to them etc. etc. But that is obviously not going to happen as they rather decided to now cut the voice service to my home (I assume due to non payment of my account) as I refuse to pay for the ADSL service that I cancelled more than 3 months ago. Unfortunately for them, I am not dependent on this landline voice services as I have an alternative through mobiles
I will now probably have to wait for them to issue summons and I will then defend that with costs and hopefully a court of law can sort out this trivial accounting issue. The reality however is that we are dealing with a bunch of totally *********** people who work for a company that does not deserve being in business. As such, it will probably be a year or more before we end up in court. If they however in the meantime decide to blacklist me, I will be delighted as I then get the opportunity to sue them for a substantial amount which will make this aggravation worth my while financially.
I can now understand why the fat cats in government continue to protect this monopoly that is yet another gravy train that fill their bank accounts - because if they opened the opportunity for another Telco to operate in South Africa - Telkom will die a natural death very quickly as nobody will deal with them.
