Telkom *******ly soliciting money from me.

If I got choose 0 stars I would, but for the sake of posting this review, I have to click on 1 star.

I cancelled my account with Telkom on the 5th of October 2017. Their contract / clause states they require 30 days (not business days) for cancellations.

I jumped through their hoops to cancel my Telkom account (You have to harass their customer support, fill in a form, scan it and search for days to find their cancellation departments email). I received a phone call on the 5th of October 2017 (same day as sending the cancellation) from a lady that asked if I'm sure I want to cancel... I obviously said "Yes" as I sent through the cancellation form.

I got my last bill for billing period 9 October 2017 to 8 November. I paid this.

All fine.

A month later I receive another bill for billing period 9 November 2017 - 8 December 2017 for R633.33

I contact them via email, attaching the email + the cancellation form that they received on the 5th October 2017. No response.

Yesterday (22 Feb 2018), I receive an email and SMS that they have handed me over to debt collectors (VVM Debt Collectors) and they clearly threaten in the email that they will ruin my credit rating and the sooner I pay them the less of an impact it will have on my credit rating. Now they want R705.55 (not the original R633.33 that they originally overcharged me with).

I had to pay this to avoid them taking legal action against me and risking my credit rating.

I want my refund of R705.55 from Telkom. You *******ly solicited money from me via debt collectors that threatened to ruin my credit rating.
