Telkom *******ly debiting my account

I had initially taken out a 24 month 3g data deal with Telkom Mobile in 2012 which was renewed for a further 24 month in 2015. The deal was R199 a month for 10gigs data, NO device included.

In November 2015, I needed to cancel that contract as I was taking out an adsl package with Telkom. I had gone to the Telkom store in Kenilworth Centre, the person who assisted us was completely useless and said we had to pay R800 penalty for cancelling early and it covers the device we had taken with the package. We had told him we did not receive any device and he was very confused. and after much back and forth frustration we had just agreed to pay the R800 penalty but their machines were done.

We then went to a second branch in Adderly Street who were more helpful, we filled out a cancellation form, they submitted it.

I then recieved a call from Telkom RE the cancellation, I agreed to the R800 cancellation fee and I was told the accound will be cancelled.

2 weeks later, I receive a call from Telkom asking me if I would like to renew my contract which expires in June. I said I'm very surprised as I was advised that the contract was cancelled. The telesales assistant advised that it was still showing active on her side. I said no I will not be renewing it as I've been trying to cancel it.

I tried to get in touch with Telkom again to cancel it and each time I am met with an 'I will escalate this to my manager'.

After much frustration I decided to just ride out the remainder of my contract which ended in June 2016.

I finally thought it was all over but then I was debited for over R300 in July. I called Telkom. I was told that the debit was strange as it shows my contract had ended in June and that he will escalate it. I reversed the debit order with my bank FNB. And put a stop the the debit order.

Today 26 August 2014, I am debited again for an amount of R461.34. I have reversed the amount and stopped the order once again.

What the hell is going on with Telkom and why are they allowed to *******ly take our money???
