Telkom ill treating Senior citizens

For the past 4 months, I have been trying to contact Telkom as my phone has not been working. Telkom refused to get back to me. Eventually, On the 30th June, I visited the Telkom store in liberty mall Pietermaritzburg. I was then told that due to cable theft my line will not be repaired. Why does Telkom treat us senior citizens as dirt - was it too much for them to contact and give me feedback regarding this issue! So on the 30th of June I converted the fixed to a look alike landline. I was told that within 7 days, the SIM will be activated and I can use the phone. I was also told that there are no lookalikes available, thus I will need to buy a cell phone and use the look alikes SIM in the new cell phone. 7 days has long since passed, and the SIM has still not been activated. Today I call again, was told to call a million other departments. Then I'm told I need to go back to the store. I am a pensioner, above 70 yrs old. I hired a car to get me to the store, had to use my pension money to buy a cell phone and now I must find money to go back to the store? Is Telkom going to reimburse me? Why is your service so pathetic Telkom, or is it that you just don't care for senior citizens as we are not rich enough for you.
