Telkom Horror Story

I bought a Samsung galaxy A30 last year July, after 3 months of using the phone the camera stopped focusing. I did not have a backup phone which I could use if I sent the phone in for repairs. Early March 2020 I decided to take the phone back to telkom to do repairs under warranty. The phone was spotless , not even a small scratch. Weeks later a received an SMS from a company that at that stage I had never heard about. Brain Logistics was wanting about R1850 to repair my phone as it was out of warranty. But my phone was not out of warranty and why did Telkom not contact me. I would never just pay a company that I have never heard of R1850 to repair a phone that is only about 8 months old. I phoned the local branch in Witbank but they knew nothing about the phone. A week later I got a chance to go to Telkom but they were closed because of Covid 19 lock down. Months passed. As soon as lock down allowed I went back to Telkom, very unhappy that I have not received my phone and showed them the SMS from Brian Logistics. What a horrible experience, so unhelpful and rude and arrogant. After much stress I decided that they should just send my phone back. I am not going to pay R1850 to repair the back camera focus problem. I will rather buy a complete high quality Camera and use the phone as just a phone without back camera. Now I have to pay R180 to get the phone back. Weeks passed. I heard nothing from Telkom. I went back into the local Witbank Horror Telkom Store. My phone is back but completely destroyed, not able to work at all. I get told the the phone had a cracked screen and that Brain Logistic can't do a quote or repair the camera without breaking the screen if the screen is cracked. A R5000 phone destroyed completely. I then get showed the fine print on the very bad quality document that explains that the repairs cant be done on a cell phone with a damaged screen. Well the the screen was fine when I sent it in. In the same document it says that repairs that take over 21 days the phone will be replaced. I still do not have a phone even now after paying R1850 and the original R185. Now nearly end of November still no phone. The most unhelpful and disrespectful people working for Telkom the Horror Shop. After R2000 that I have paid for repairs for a phone that is under warranty which I have paid out of desperation. I still have no phone only headaches and unhappiness and no R2000. Shame on Telkom, You promise and ***** without a problem, but can't repair or replace the phone.
