Telkom has No Ears
Telkom is the most frustrating company to deal with : give them a very wide berth when choosing a Service Provider. I dealt with the Sales Division in October 2025 and stressed during our discussions that I would NOT change my existing and very recently obtained cell number. Apparently, no-one in Telkom listens to what the Customer wants. I noted that I was not receiving my monthly data/airtime/SMSes and that my monthly invoice was not only showing a residential address which I'd left 9 years before, but that the benefits were going to an unknown number. When I queried this I was told that I had to go into the nearest Telkom office to get my number changed from this unknown number to the number I wanted in the first place. I was charged a fee to compensate for this problem which was not of my making. I was also informed that the anonymous Telkom folk who handle Cases would contact me, but would only try 3 times where after the case would be closed. I cannot find 2 of the calls on my call log, but there was a 5-second call made on 13 February. So, Telkom staff closed case 1. I had to make numerous lengthy frustrating calls to get a new case opened. The second case has now also been closed, for whatever reason, but I now despair of ever encountering a competent, honest, helpful person in this disorganized company. When I spoke to a rather impertinent young lady yesterday I asked to speak to her supervisor. I have yet to hear from Ms Sanet (?) Khumalo and am now ready to block Telkom from ever contacting me. They can keep their 5 second calls, but they saw fit to send me 2 SMSes blaming me for their mistakes and their inability to listen to simple requests from customers. This Telkom is not a good company with whom to do business : choose another Service Provider.
