Telkom has elevated bad service to a new level

Five days ago our landline and fiber optics went down. I phoned Telkom on 10210 and reported the problem and received a fault tracing number 532CTK080217. On further enquiry, it transpired that the cable had been ******. The consultant then suggested that I acquire a sim card from the Telkom outlet, as an interim measure, at Woodlands Boulevard. On arrival, it transpired that they were off-line. I then went back the next day to get the sim card. The consultant said that it would be activated in 4 hours. Twenty-two hours later the sim card had still not been activated. So back to Woodlands I went. One of the consultants there tried to activate the card, only to be thrown off by the program. Another consultant took over and an hour and a half later the card had still not been activated. They then tried to phone the IT department, only to have their calls rejected one after the other. In disgust I the gave up. I still do not have any internet connection. I am paying for a service that I am not receiving.
