Telkom Gateway makes no provision for disable people
We recently had to change lines as we are moving houses and had attempted to do this over the phone but after 2 hours was asked to come into the store to sort it out. Now don't get me wrong , this isn't about telkom bad service, not just as an isp but it's in-store customer service , the person of whom the account is registered on, is legally declared as disabled and as such it was an absolute mission getting him to actually go to the store. The only thing more terrible than their over the phone service is their in store customer service, there was no higher management available and the store doesn't cater for a person with a disability, neither seating nor service (assisting the disable person ahead of the queue ) . After I along with many other compassionate customers complained about seating and service for the disabled person they made a pathetic attempt at redemption by bringing an office chair to sit in, this itself presented a greater challenge in getting the person to sit on the chair and also to leave the chair when it was time to be served. After a further 30 minutes wait, filled with complaints we were served. This of course isn't the first time a company in South Africa hasn't been accommodating to disable people but it certainly was the worst I've had to deal with.
