Telkom Gaming

Been with Telkom for roughly a year and a half now. I've generally had good service to be honest and the service (4mbps uncapped) was good as well.

However, as of the beginning of February the latency has been insanely high although the download and upload remained the same. I am an avid online gamer and now it is just not possible with this ********** ping. A technician came and found nothing wrong and back to usual high latency we went again.

Found out later that I am being switched over onto 'interleaving' with the ASSIA system Telkom implemented and thus from now on instead of going from point A to B directly, I am being taken elsewhere first then to point B. The roundtrip is apparently there to make all users' experience more smooth and iron out problems quicker.

Meanwhile, if you game online you are basically *****ed.

My complaint: Why is there no option with this company to select packages specifically for gaming firstly, and why am I not being given a chance to choose whether or not I want to be on Fastpath or this interleaving thing? It is really tideous and essentially I can't do what I am paying Telkom for.

Utterly disappointed and I'm cancelling my month-tomonth contract with them. Quid pro quo am I right? You don't get to take my money when you give me more than 150ms local and in excess of 350ms to London I'm sorry.
