Telkom *****
My personal details were recently compromised where a Telkom representative did a sim swop without my consent. My banking details and other personal details are on my phone and this sim swop was done without my sim swop to commit *****. On the 6th of Feb, my sim had stopped working, I called in to Telkom thinking it was a reception issue, the rep over the phone said I should wait 72 hours for the issue to be resolved, after not hearing anything I called back on the 8th where another rep told me to do a sim swop as the issue had appeared to be a faulty sim. On the 9th I went in to do a sim swop where I had realized that the reason why my sim had stopped working was because a sim swop was done on the 6th(not by me). RCS ***** called me on the 9th asking me if I had swiped my card for R10 000 in which I realized that the sim swop was done to compromise my credit card. When doing a sim swop your ID needs to be present as well as proof of address and biometrics are taken. How were the biometrics approved if the sim swop was not done by me? I’ve called Telkom multiple times and they still cannot give me feedback. They are in on this *****, we trust them with our personal details and they compromise our details which lead us into debt! DO NOT OPEN UP CONTRACTS WITH TELKOM, other than *****, they service is absolutely pathetic!
