I had a contract with Telkom Mobile and I had defaulted on payments due to covid and unemployment, I had started paying them in December and my outstanding amount was 5k and I paid R700 in December and R600 in the first week of January 2022. Today I received an sms stating that I have been handed over to a debt collection company and I owe telkom 10k, how did the amount double??

26 Jun 2023, 12:25I started paying them then they moved the contract to different attorneys and the amount went back to the initial debt amount so I've given them R2000 for free..
