Telkom Fibre - Telkom *****ing money by charging for fibre that is not active and that is not being used
I app**** for my adsl line to be upgraded to fibre in October 2017. Until December 2017 I called every week to find out when i can start using my fibre. It was just never finalised. Vumatel installed their things, the router was delivered (which i got charged for and my service was suspended in error - that was another fight). I gave up after December 2017 and just kept using my adsl internet as it cost me R100 for every call that I made to Telkom at least 2x per week for many weeks as they take forever to answer. No phone calls, no emails, no notification whatsoever was received from Telkom that my fibre is ready or that i am going to have to start paying for it. As if they did i would have made sure that it was actually working and that i could use it. On my latest statement for the end of March 2019 I am charged for a third party cost (pro rata) which i am told is for the fibre and the 20mbs data package that I have been using according to them. So if the vumatel fibre box and fibre router was not even plugged in for the last 4 months how can i have used fibre and how in the world can they push a 20 mbs fibre data package through my adsl line? I am getting told that my adsl line is now running on a 20mbs line and that is what I am charged for. But my internet is so slow i can hardly use it so how does that work Telkom? One would have thought that if your data package increased from 4mbs to 20 mbps you would notice a positive difference. When i logged in to my telkom account on the internet it states very clearly that my FUP is not active. So what am I being charged for? No one at Telkom bothered to call me or do anything to set up my fibre router. During the first discussions with the telkom staff when i app**** for this upgrade it was clearly said that my adsl line will get cancelled as soon as my Fibre is up and running and now I have to find out that it seems not to be the case as they are pushing the supposed upgrade through my adsl line. According to my knowledge the fibre line and the adsl line are two different things. In fact Telkom could even come and remove the cable to the telephone pole in the back yard when my fibre is up and running as it is two completely different things. Only Telkom knows how they figured this one out. I will advise any one to NEVER use any of Telkom's services. If they had told me they are sorry but can they help me to set up my fibre so i can use it maybe I would be a little calmer right now. But all i get told it my line is now on a 20mbs data package and that is what i am charged for and it cannot be reversed. It is what it is. Who in their right mind will willingly pay for something they dont have??? Telkom staff has no customer service s****s, Telkom *****s your money by charging for things you dont have and services that you are not using because you cant. Now i have to wait 30 days to cancel everything. And from what i heard cancellations and releasing of lines are also one hell of a mission and it takes heavy threatening and fighting to get that done as it is never done within the 30 day notice period that they insist on. Telkom staff has no intelligence at all, no admin s****s and they definitely have no clue what they are doing. I dont know why my line must be released before i can get fibre through another service provider because i want absolutely nothing to do with Telkom in any way ever again. They are a disgrace. Even if they pay me i will not use them for anything ever again.
