Telkom Fibre Speed

Good Day, I recently upgraded to Telkom Fibre ( Frogfoot) from ADSL line. My wifi speed has been slow when browsing and watching TV. I did a speed test and it's not 30 download and 30 upload. This is the package I took.

My speed is 10 download and 0.17 upload currently. I've spent surely over an hour trying to get assistance with an agent at Telkom. When I eventually got through, Agent explained that she'll email Frogfoot and then send their feedback via email to me. I have to work with Telkom and cannot liaise directly with Frogfoot. Upon receiving her feedback, I noticed she spoke to them about my Laptop. I don't even own a Laptop. I mentioned that I connect my PC also to the Fibre and speed is slow. She sent me this long list of instructions and advised that I need to do all those and take screenshots and return to her. I don't even know how to do of those tests. I did the speed test and sent screen shot. All I want is my Fibre speed to be 30 download and 30 upload, what I'm paying for. Currently I'm paying for a service and not receiving it. Hoping someone can assist. This is instructions that was sent for me to do:

When doing speed tests, please do the following.

* Check for errors on the WAN port of the router

* Check what speed and duplex the WAN port has negotiated

* Check router average CPU utilization

* Check router logs

Once the above has been completed, if the cause for the slow speeds has not been found, proceed to the steps below.

* Reboot the router

* Ensure that the Ethernet NIC is 1Gbps capable for client links above 100Mbps

* Ensure that a CAT5E or CAT6 ethernet cable is being used to connect to the router or ONT

* Check what speed and duplex the laptop's ethernet adapter has negotiated

* Monitor CPU utilization of machine while conducting the speed test

* Run a test to at least three different speed test servers.

* Screenshot all results during testing(throughput and laptop CPU)

Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Regards Colleen
