Telkom Fibre - Spare yourself the agony and don't even think about signing up
In February 2018 Telkom came around to our home in Brackenfell after the Vumatel fibre network went live to sign us up. We signed up for a 20/20 MBPS 200 GB package for R849.00 pm. We were assured that we'll have fibre internet connectivity within a month and therefore we sent in cancellation notice to Vox Telecom who is our ADSL ISP. Two months have since passed and we're sitting without internet and haven't heard a word from Telkom. We wet directly to Vumatel and made an appointment to get our fibre installed. This was done and we've received the R1710.00 invoice. Two more weeks have then since passed in which we constantly sent Telkom emails and phone calls with the reply, "Sorry Sir. We too don't know what is going on but we will escalate your query to head office." This morning we went in to a Telkom store to try and sort out this mess and they told us that we have no fibre active on our profile. This is indicative that the documentation that we signed 2 months ago hasn't even been processed yet. Now we want to cancel this whole process with Telkom as nothing has been processed in over two months and sign up at Vox Telecom since our neighbor signed up with them and got sorted out with operational fibre internet connectivity within 10 days.
Can anyone please provide some guidance as we've given up hope that Telkom will be of any assistance? Will it be possible to get this Telkom sign up process stopped before they start sending us invoices for a service we've not received?
Warm regards,
