Telkom Fibre Gated Community Service is shocking

I'm writing this review, knowing that nothing will be done about it, but hopefully it can prevent them from ******** anyone else.

Firstly, to estates and complexes, don't sign a deal with Telkom where you allow them to be the exclusive installer of fibre infrastructure in your estate. By doing this you allow them to dictate which ISPs you can use and at what rate.

I live in Fernkloof Estate in Herm**** and when I moved in, I had only Telkom as a FNO option and guess what, only Telkom as ISP. I signed up for a 20mbps uncapped service @ R 967/month. Compared to prices on Vumatel, Frogfoot etc, this was already expensive, but yes I didnt have a choice.

Telkom have now proceeded to charge me R 1590 per month and also added a router to my bill. I bought my own router and can just put that down to Telkom incompetence.

Where will this public enterprise fiasco ever end. I hope someone wakes up one day and privatizes all these POE. We as South Africans are entitled to better service from these tax-funded ***********s.
