Telkom Fibre false advertising

Telkom recently rolled out fibre to the home (FTTH) in the area I live in. After which they had sales people in my area for about two months. They would ring our door bell day and night punting their great new fibre network.

I said I would sign up because I would love fibre in my home. It is both faster and cheaper than ADSL so you would be crazy not to sign up for this great deal right? So I phoned in to purchase, only to be set up for massive disappointment.

I was told I do not have FTTH in my area. How can that be when they have their sales people on every street corner handing out pamphlets and ringing doorbells to offer their FTTH. After checking their coverage map I saw that the entire area had coverage, except for 5 houses. In the middle of massive square area I was in a \dead zone\" of fibre. So they did the entire suburb except for 5 houses right slap bang in the middle.

It doesn't make any sense, I could literally throw a cable over my fence into my neighbors yard and have fibre.

I had sales people constantly ringing my door bell for two months and stopping me in the street trying to sell me a product they couldn't, and still can't actually provide me with.
"
