Telkom Fiber possible Debacle

I have just been informed by Telkom's Call Centre (10210 ext 5) that if I cancel my Telkom Fiber I cannot revert to my original much cheaper landline package and will also lose my landline number. If this is true, it would be a disaster for home and small businesses who want to migrate to cheaper and more reliable fiber suppliers but cannot give up their landline number that is in the public domain. Furthermore it will be brainless for anyone to chose Telkom Fiber knowing they cannot cancel without losing their landline number. A senior Telkom Official must urgently respond to confirm or rectify the call center feedback so that if true, consumer journalists and radio stations must alert all current and those considering Telkom Fiber of this debacle and also seek Government intervention.
