Telkom Failure: No Email Notification for Rejected Debit Order, Immediate Service Suspension
Date of Incident: 1 November 2025
I am writing to express my severe disappointment with Telkom's communication failure regarding a rejected debit order, which led to the immediate and unannounced suspension of my services.
The issue lies squarely with Telkom's failure to notify me. My designated communication method is email, yet I received no email, SMS, or any other secondary alert informing me that the debit order had been unsuccessful.
The result of this communication lapse was an immediate service suspension without any prior warning or reasonable grace period, causing significant disruption to my work and personal life.
This lack of transparency and adherence to basic communication standards is unacceptable for a service provider. Suspending a service without first notifying the customer of a failed critical payment is a profound procedural flaw.
Summary of Complaint:
The Failure: Telkom failed to send any notification (especially via email) regarding the failed payment.
The Impact: Services were suspended immediately and without warning, causing disruption.
I require an immediate explanation for this lapse in protocol and assurance that Telkom will review and fix its automated notification system to prevent other customers from experiencing sudden disconnections due to internal communication failures.
