I have been a faithful customer at Telkom for the past 30+years. Last year I decided to cancel my contracts which by the way were on a month to month basis. The reason for cancelation is because it became apparent that Telkom was never going to install fibre in my area after being told that they would for almost 3 years now. Due to the state of the economy I had to go through a private company to get fibre. Despite giving Telkom sufficient notice of termination, they still deduct an installment off my account each month.I have in my possession a copy of a final invoice from Telkom stating that I am actually in credit with them rather than debit. I have been to my local branch where the contracts were taken , on at least seven occasions and have the ticket numbers to prove this. On the last occasion which is in February 2023 I even spoke to the branch manager who apologized and stated that it would be sorted out. I have saved messages from Telkom telling me that the matter has been resolved. Almost a R1000 is being deducted from my account each month for a service that is not active and does not actually exist any more.I have written down names of each person that supposedly assisted me at my branch. I was even promised a call back from Telkom head office which I have never reciprocal to date. This sad and pathetic company is yet another example of a failed SOE.
