Telkom expects payment for line not in service

email, as sent to telkom

To whom it may concern

It is with great disappointment that I write this email. My landline, as mentioned above, has been out of operation since October 2024. This was said to be due to fibre development. However, today I received an sms stating that I am liable to pay a debt collector in respect of the same account. An account I had received a callback for and requested a cancelation in December 2024.

On calling your call centre and following the prompts. I was then "assisted" by a department that could not assist me. I would admit that I lost my temper and patience.

But this is not the first time Telkom has given me heartache when it comes to this landline.

Kindly ensure that the account is canceled and the charges are reversed, as I cannot be expected to pay for a non-existing line that has no usage.

Kindly note, that this email has also been posted on Hello Peter consumer complaints.

Awaiting a responsible and favorable response timeously.

Received an email requesting references.
Telkom is aware of the fault mentioned and should have access to the request for cancelation.
Delaying tactics seem to be utilized to frustrate customers into paying an ever increasing bill for services not rendered.
Poor service delivery seems to be the norm, and as an exhausted 🎀 patient, I do not need the unnecessary burden of stressing over an account that should have sorted itself out.
Telkom need to be held responsible for non service delivery, poor management of accounts and unfair billing.
