Telkom escalating account without informing client

Good day I have had alot of problems with Telkom in the past and always moved on and let it slide but today im really disappointed in them. My account was escalated to a debt collecting company without Telkom even informing me my debit order reversed, I missed one payment and once they realized I had money in my bank account Telkom deducted a double installment, 1 without informing me my account is in arrears and 2 without my permission for them to double deduct. My agreement with Telkom is to deduct on the last day of the month and not to deduct any other day, I did not give permission for the double deduction. 4 days after they did a double deduction I received an email from the debt collecting company to contact them regarding my arrears and to make arrangements, immediately after receiving that email I phoned Telkom to ask why my account was escalated if they took double installment from my account and without informing me, the consultant said they sorry and that the account was hand back from the debt collectors. I admit it is my fault the debit order reversed but I would have made a cash payment once some1 informed me about the it, due to the popi act companies are also not allowed to just hand accounts over without informing the client. I am also afraid this will affect my credit record. What upsets me the most is they phone and send emails all day long for upgrades and promotions but nobody could phone me regarding the debit order reversal.
