Telkom error and poor service cost pensioner money and prevent comms

My mother of 75 signed up for a telkom mix anytime special in Nov 2015 that would give her a cell phone, line rental and landline calls plus 1G cell data every month. This happened at the same time that telkom had a promotion for 10G free data per month. Only when the promotion end the reality hit: my mom was given a different deal, smartplan 100 whereby she get only 150 Meg per month. She use her cell data to communicate with family and friends and now she can't. Phoning did not help, she was told to go to the telkom shop at Cresta where she signed up. Imagine the effort for somebody using crutches already. That shop have admitted the error and promised several times to have it sorted out. After several visits (you cannot phone the shop!) it still have not been done. Surely if it is your error, and for a pensioner, you should make it a priority to sort things out!

I Have provided the id number the same day. Was smsed to ask for account details 4 days later. Still no official response and my mother has already run out of her 150 Meg. Now she has to pay if she want to communicate.

It seems that Telkom does not care about senior people - even when the error is on Telkom's side. Nobody has contacted my mother or me yet (except for contact details as noted before). The next step would be to go to the consumer council and newspapers?
