Telkom DSL service cancellation problems.

I have been trying since August 2017 to cancel my DSL service (and I use this word very loosely) with Telkom- With no success up to this point. I have sent the cancellation forms through to them ********** and ********** four times and have been to the Telkom shop in the Liberty Midlands Mall, Pietermaritzburg. I have even tried to contact them via their Facebook page and got the same result from all avenues.

I have been assured every time that it will be handled, and that the service will be cancelled within a maximum 21 days. 8 months later and I'm still keep getting a statement from these *********** fools.

What does one have to do to get their service (and again, I use that work very loosely) cancelled? Do we live in a country where mass action or buffoon like violent protests are the only means to achieving the result in what would otherwise be considered a perfectly normal request.

I'm absolutely frustrated with Telkom and really don't know what steps I can take to get this issue resolved- Are their any legal actions that I can take to get this service cancelled, and perhaps get my account credited?

Surprise... Surprise!!!! Despite the assurance from Telkom expressed in the reply above, that my issue had been escalated and would get resolved, it took less than 4 weeks after this reply for me to receive yet another statement from these idiots, indicating that I have an even bigger outstanding account owing to them. So, with the understanding that this is a partially state owned enterprise (where you are assured of a major s****s shortage due to the insistence on hiring based more on skin colour rather than actual credentials), you can expect a hiccup the first, second, third, fourth, and even fifth attempt to get an issue resolved. But SURELY not the sixth!!! Not wanting to give up on a system that is clearly very dynamic (note the sarcasm), I decided for the third time to visit the local Telkom Branch at the Liberty Midlands Mall, Pietermaritzburg. No problem, Mr Jones, your matter has been escalated (I believe, by now the matter is being dealt with by Gods right hand man himself). So I leave with the feeling of closure and relief…. Well, I have, today received yet another jaw dropping statement, indicating that the issue has not been dealt with and that I owe yet more money!!! My response…. Should I laugh... Or should I cry... NOPE.... Telkom, if you want my money…. Come and get it!!! No, I mean, send one of your consultants (one with an IQ bigger than his/her shoes size preferably) and come and get it!!! I am choosing to ignore any further email statements, and will now wait for these idiots to escalate the outstanding account in their system… Watch this space….
