Telkom dont care

My wife has been trying to upgrade her business phones since April. The Lady who helped them last time is on maternity leave, the person who is looking after her accounts just never replies to mail. My wife and colleagues have called 180 and also submitted tickets online, Telkom just don’t respond. When you do get through to them and they vet all the required details you find they have no stock of the phones you want.

I seriously think Telkom don’t care about business, the last time my wife work wanted to upgrade it was also like getting blood from a stone. I remember my own phones, I migrated all our personal phones to a free me family, it was a nightmare. Luckily is done and I am now on a month to month, the package works for us and for phones we just go directly to the iStore.

I used my experience with Telkom and my wifes experience with Telkom to make a business decision at my own work to never make use of Telkom. We are very happy with DFA fibre, for personal connectivity each user gets an allowance and however they make their cellular connectivity work is up to them. The same story applies to home ADSL is gone and FTTH is in, I converted my landline to VoIP, Telkom are just loosing all the way because they are just not forward thinking, in spite of their logo and slogan.

Its a terrible state of affairs since Telkom have the biggest infrastructure footprint.

21 Days later and my wife is still trying to upgrade her business contracts, she calls 180 and they send her from pillar to post promising they will get back to her.. we go into a store and they say sorry we don't have stock of the phones.. if we go into an iStore they have stock but can't do business contracts. Its really frightening how its become..

Its almost a month later and there is still no word from Telkom. We went past a shop the other day and they said, "we don't have stock of the phones" sorry for the inconvenience.. I take great pleasure nowadays of sending Telkom and BCX away when they come to our work wanting business, they don't deserve any of it. I remember when the logo was changed to represent forward thinking.... nothing could be further from the truth. When FTTH started making waves I called up our BCX/Telkom rep and asked about the impact of FTTH on the voice services and have Telkom thought about providing an alternate VoIP solution for the home. His reply to me was, "you need to speak to someone in the Telkom store about that". This is someone that is supposed to be getting new business onboard. Now that half our neighbourhood are on Fibre they are all frantically trying to cancel the ADSL and POTS services, Telkom are ******ing this up too, some people have been at it for 6 months and still they keep getting the bills. Its a sad state of affairs when you are begging Telkom for service but they are just too useless to deliver it. One of these days it will be a white elephant...
