TELKOM DOESN'T WANT BUSINESS

At the beginning of December I received an SMS informing me that "as per my request" my internet service would be cancelled within 5 days. I called 10210 to enquire as to what was going on and I was told I had cancelled my contract. Really? I did not cancel my contract, didn't think I could because it is after all a 24 month contract and only 12 months had elapsed. I was told the request for cancellation would be "reversed." On viewing my account on Thursday 22nd December I noted that I had not been charged for Internet services, so nothing had been "reversed." So I called once again, this time to be offered "a new contract." I do not want a new contract, I just want to continue with my original contract. Today I went into Telkom at Bayside to speak to a consultant and was told "there was nothing she could do. Someone cancelled the contract." I would have to speak to the Sales Department who are not working today. I find it strange that Telkom do business in this manner. I did not cancel my contract but "somebody" did. How can somebody else cancel MY contract? I find it even more strange that nobody at Telkom can show me any proof of when and how I or anyone else requested such cancellation. So who *****ed up and won't admit it? I also have a job to do and don't have the time to run around trying to deal with people who don't know what they are doing. So if somebody can just advise me now when I may expect a refund of my R700 deposit so I can arrange for a different service provider.
