Telkom - Does the company actually still exist??

Our area is currently being fitted with fibre cables. In the process of doing so the contractors seem to have messed up my phone line. This means I currently have no phone and what is even more disturbing is that my alarm system is not connected with the security company. I reported the fault with the company doing the contract work, but they said I should report the problem to Telkom, I did so and received a reference number 191CWK220317. Nothing happened!! I then reported the problem via the Telkom complaints process - all I received is an e-mail to which one cannot respond quoting the same words I typed on the complaint - nothing further, I then contacted the advertised help line - only to be told that that is a crime line and the company has reported the problem repeatedly to Telkom with no results!! There are no numbers on the Internet that one can contact from a cell phone. I then drove through to the Telkom offices in Bellville, only to realise that they have moved premises - and nobody seems to know where they have moved to.

Dear Telkom team. It has now been a week since I originally logged the problem and there is still no resolution. All I have to date are 2 separate reference numbers..... I would really think that a TELECOMMUNICATIONS company could at least do the basic thing and COMMUNICATE with their customers !! - this is the first piece of feedback I received - but alas still no resolution or any indication as to by when I can expect resolution!! The only thing that I see is an apoloy for the delay.... and from teh largest communications company - some lame excuse of missing spares....!! Please just tell me BY WHEN I can expect resolution!! -or give me the contact detail of this faceless "releveant department" you are referring to.... This is simply not acceptable - and just feels like a "standard reply"!!!

Dear Telkom - And more specifically Yazied and Bronwyn. Can you please explain to me: 1. When I contacted your call center (10212) on Monday I was informed that the problem was allocated to a technician. 2. You then informed me that the problem was escalated to the "relevant department". 3. You then gave me, what appears to be a bull-dust story, that the technical department is waiting on spares - see Bronwyn's response to me!! 4. I then contacted your call center again this morning and spoke to someone with the name of Sibongile - who informed me that the problem was only allocated to a technician at 07h30 this morning!!!! . This tells me that, despite such a serious forum such as Hellopeter you simply do not care and that you are even prepared to conjure up some stories just to get the customer off your back. I regard this is extremely serious and will now take the matter to the minister's office and the media unless I receive a plausible explanation before close of business today.

Dear Telkom. As was to be expected. We have reached the end of the business day - and no sign from the so-called technician that was assigned to the job, and also as was to be expected, no further feedback whatsoever from anyone as regards the very basic request to give me an indication as to BY WHEN the problem will be resolved. My residence is currently still without a security connection to the security company because there is no landline. You are therefore directly responsible that my family is at risk and I have reached the end of my tolerance. I will therefore now approach the media and the minister's office.....
