Telkom does not care!

I have a current cellphone contract with Telkom from July of 2016. Early December 2017 I decided to order an LTE router from them that was advertised online with them. I filled in the form online, a lady from Telkom called me and explained to me the terms and conditions and took down my details. I had the LTE delivered to me on the 15th of December 2017. I took the LTE router home, it worked for a few hours and then stopped working. I checked online forums for help. That didnt help so I called Telkom to log a service fault. Within the following week, three agents called me and went through trouble shooting steps with me that resulted in nothing. The device was still not working. On the 7th day of my having the device in my possession and realizing that the device may never work since they do not know what to do with it, I called Telkom and let them know I wanted the device taken back and my contract with them for the LTE router cancelled because the device isnt working and nobody seems to know what was wrong with it. I had to speak to four agents and then eventually get to their manager to organise a courier that will take the device back. The device was eventually collected on the 28th of December 2017. I recorded the manager telling me that the contract for the lte router will be cancelled as soon as the device reached their offices. On the 5th of Jan, I got my regular Telkom invoice but the invoice included R1060.21c for this LTE router. I immediately called Telkom to report this, I got a reference number and waited for correspondence. I reversed the debit order from them that contained the amount for the router. Two days later I decided to call again to check on the progress and I was told that the problem was not reported to the right department. The consultant helped me to open another case with a new reference number ( ********** 9 –Logged 09/01/2018). I sent her the collection receipt from the courier and she said they will solve the problem within 72 working hours ( 9 business days). After this period, I called because I didn’t not get any correspondence. I called again and was told to wait a week, that the need more time and that they should be resolving the case soon. On the 5th of February, I got my regular Telkom Invoice. I checked it hoping to see all charges for the device removed, instead I saw even more charges added for this particular device. I immediately called Telkom and asked to speak to the particular manager (Nkosinathi Mhlongo) who helped me with the device collection and promised that I will not be charged. After calling almost 3 times and being told he is on another phone call or is in a meeting, I eventually got to him. He asked for the delivery receipt again, which I sent to him. He told me he would escalate it to his managers. I waited again, called in to check up the progress with nothing being done. In the meantime, I reversed both debit orders for January and February and paid the amounts for my cellphone manually on the Telkom website, this amounted to R1916.50c. Eventually I spoke to Nkosinathi again who then told me he would escalate it again since he cannot do anything about it, the billing department has to cancel everything. I got another reference number( ********** 7 – Logged 11/02/2018). I waited and called again and got a new reference number( ********** 7 – Logged 22/02/2018). All the while, I was promised action within 9 business days or 24 hours etc. etc. On the 8th of March 2018, I got another invoice with charges totalling R 2848.04c for the device. I called Telkom and told them I will call all day until the issue was resolved. I was moved from pillar to post. I reached a new manager (Lishell) who told me she would escalate the issue to higher management and would have everything solved in 24 hours. NOTHING HAPPENED and now my cellphone contract has been suspended and are now left without a phone. Never ever try Telkom.

The affected number is ***, the number for the router I returned is ***. I dont care about the references numbers because they are meant to placate us. All I want from Telkom is to get an invoice with the correct billing for my cellphone which is *** and for that correct amount to be debited from my account. Last week my bank account was debited with R2000 exactly from Telkom that no one can explain. When I call Billing no one can explain why this is...I cannot even speak to anyone who deals with accounts directly so it is all useless. I just want any affiliation to the lte router removed from my name and for Telkom to do the right thing. ID Number ***
