Telkom disregard for customer rights and services
I have a contract with Telkom. On the 28th December 2020 my phone had died out of the blue and I sent it through to Telkom Mall of Africa for repairs on the 30th December. I was then told that I had to deactivate my find my iPhone and iPhone account in order for them to take the phone for repairs, which was an inconvenience to me. I was told to find someone who has an iPhone or a computer to log in and deactivate from that particular device. After many failed attempts I went to istore in Mall of Africa and they helped me out in a split second. Took the phone back to Telkom and I was told that they would communicate with me on my alternative number about paying the access fee and collecting the phone after 14 days, as my phone is insured with them. But this never happened, on the 30th January 2021 I had to go to the store and find out what’s going on because there was no communication. Only to find out that the store got communication from their repairs centre on the 18th January 2021 that I should pay the access fee in order for the phone to receive its spare parts and be fixed. I was so angry and frustrated but I paid the excess fee immediately. Mid February (third week) I went to the store again to find out if my phone was fixed. It was fixed, but I was never told what was the problem and they had removed my expensive phone protector without consulting or disclosing to me that it would be removed for repairs. When I asked it they would replace it, got no answer. My phone was also blocked due to a certain non payment of the contract which they never communicated with me once again, even though they had my alternative number. I have complained about how they don’t take customers service serious and don’t respect me and my efforts of having to travel more than 5 times to the store and be turned back. I have asked for an email at the store to complain and they gave me one which has never responded, I complained on their Facebook and Twitter and it was said that the matter would be escalated, nothing happened. I complained on the call center number. Nothing happened. I asked for the managements emails and were given 2 incorrect ones. I have been running up and down with Telkom for the past 2 and half months and I demand they take me serious as their customer. I also demand they pay me back the money for my phone screen protector which is more than R1300 at mobile outfitters Mall of Africa. I have lost all hope in Telkom and don’t want to do anything with them anymore after my contract ends
