Telkom Direct Debit Billing

During the month of February 2017, Telkom had a gazebo on the corner of Linden and Willowbrooke Avenue in Strathavon. They were offering the Hauwei B313 LTE Modem on a 24 month contract. I signed up and was supposed to have the unit delivered to my home within 2 weeks. I stay about 500 metres in a unit complex in Linden Street. Courier It was their courier company and they coudln't find my address which meant that I personally had to collect the unit myself at their depot in Long Meadow Park.

Upon receiving the unit at the end of the month, I decided to connect and was advised that it takes 24-48 hours for connection. After that period, I phoned Telkom to go through the connection procedure. Unfortuantely, I could not receive any signal connection either on 3g of LTE. I requested Telkom to please uplift the unit which they did (I do have a copy of the Courier It slip) which was on the 6th March 2017. Up till then it has been an uphill battle with Telkom to cancel my contract with a unit that does not function in my unit complex. I have phoned Telkom's Mobile Division (8ta) numerous times and I am not getting any joy whatsoever. My first caller didn't advise me that I had to complete a cancellation form. After filling one out through the second caller, I received an email to say that I couldn't cancel my contract after being told previuosly that it can take up to 10 weeks for this matter to be resolved. I wrote an email back to them to inform them that this was totally unacceptable. They then referred me to a number ( ********** ) in Pretoria to take the matter further. I was given an email address ********** As I could not get through on the landline, I tried the email address with still no response. I have phone about 5 consultants who keep telling me that they are handing this matter over to the retentions department and still getting no joy. I have even tried the legal department ********** and still not getting through. I have now resorted to a fixed Optic Fibre Line which I am now quite content. My case no is ********** 6 and my acc no is ********** 68. Suely Telkom should check to see if the modem is operable in our area before offering contracts even though we were at close poximity to where the promotion was launched. Would it deem fair to be charged for a 24 month contract for a unit that I no longer have in my unit and have the courier scan copy of the waybill? Need desperate help please as I am paying R35.00 stop order fees which has not totaled over R120.00 out of my own pocket not Telkom???

Thank you Busi. However this process has been going on for way way too long. Many phone calls have been made to your consultants who in turn have made contact with your retentions department and up to date nothing forthcoming

I draw to you attention once again for the POOR TELKOM MOBILE DIVISION SERVICE.

I have recevied an SMS notification for not paying my account. Payment goes through via direct debit of which I have decided to change my bank account details. The reason for this is the following: -

1. I am being charge for a Huawei LTE Modem B313 which I am no longer in possession because of no signal in my area. A proof of collection from Courier-It has been scaned and email through to Telkom. Telkom is aware of this. THE UNIT HAS NEVER HAS BEEN FUNCTIONAL SINCE I RECEIVED IT and hence the arrangement for upliftment AT THE TIME. I am paying for a 24 month contract for a unit I which I don't have and would deem to be *****ELENT!!!!!!

2. Continously paying for a direct debit cancelation fee surcharge of R35.00 every month to reverse the amount which has now totaled R105.00. I hardly think Telkom will reimburse me for that amount.

Noleen / Busi you have no done a thorough job with the Mobile Divison retentions department since the 19th June 2017.......

Should I not received any feedback within the next 48 hours I WILL TAKE STRINGENT MEASURES TO ENSURE THAT THE ABOVE IS ATTENDED WITHIN THE GIVEN PERIOD.

THIS IS POOR AND SHOCKING SERVICE!
