Telkom denies credit unfairly

I app**** at Telkom for a LTE contract which they now claim that they cannot process because of a debt written off when I lived in Table View. The only time I ever lived in Table View was twenty years ago. My credit record is absolutely clean with nothing bad. Telkom appears to have set up their own little credit bureau that they seem to think is not regulated by the National Credit Act.

I am 61 years old and and retired. A double cancer survivor and after surgery for throat cancer, I have difficulty communicating with the telephone because I have no vocal cords. Communication with the outside world is very important to me but Telkom feels it is OK to try and collect money from me for a prescribed debt written off twenty years ago.

No Telkom, things don't work like that. You cannot run your own little credit bureau and you are subject to the laws of the country like everybody else. In terms of the National Credit Act I insist that you supply me with credible documentary evidence and, failing that, you remove such adverse information within twenty working days as required by the Act.

Stop victimising the elderly and the not so healthy. You people pay absolutely no attention to your social media inbox, so trying to have a discussion with you there is an exercise in futility, I will be in my grave before the conversation is over, in which case I promise to come back and haunt you lot. Cut out the petty nonsense and do your job!!
