Telkom deducting money from my account for no services rendered.
I have a problem, I took out a data contract with Telkom, last year in February and I subsequently cancelled it within the 7 days cooling-off period. One of the reasons I decided to cancel was that my landlady was terminating her services from Telkom due to a lack of network coverage in our area. To date I have never received any service from Telkom and yet they keep making deductions from my account which I have to always reverse and then pay bank fees for the reversals. I keep calling them and I get passed on from one department to another and only when I demand that someone helps me and that I don’t want to be transferred anymore, then they will ask me for my details and tell me that I will receive a phone call to arrange collection within 3 business days. The last call I made on the 17th March 2020, I asked the agent I spoke with to email me something that proves that I logged a cancellation with them in February 2019, she told me that they can only receive emails not send them out and when i asked for an SMS, she told me she cannot guarantee that because they have network challenges, the only thing she gave me was a reference number. This is frustrating because it has been going on for a year and has now messed up my credit rating, this despite the fact that Telkom has never rendered any service to me.
