TELKOM DEBT

In October 2016 I app**** for an ADSL line at my hom. In December 2016 I received a bill from TELKOM for R 1500.00, although no installation was done. I quiried the account, but was informed that I must pay the account. After intervention by J Snyman from the PE Branch, the account was rectified.During February 2017 the installation was completed. In July 2017 we moved to a new premises. Although TELKOM was informed, it took two months to transfer the line. Although SMS's and e-mails were sent to the technical department, there was no response. After the installation was finally completed in August 2017, the line worked for a few weeks and then the trouble really started. The telephone did not work, and the internet was intermittent to not working at all. In December 2017 I cancelled the line, informing TELKOM that they are responsible for the cancellation as the could not deliver the service they were contracted for. I also sent all the relevant e-mails to TELKOM regarding the above situation. After I cancelled the contract, I was contacted by the technical department in Pretoria, asking if they could send technicians to my home to sort out the problem. Due to TELKOM'S lack of interest, I refused further assistance. I have now received numerous warnings from debt collectors and finally P&P Attorneys to pay the outstanding balance of R 1 500.00, which I refuse to pay, as TELKOM could not supply the service the were contracted for.
