I initially signed up for a 24 month contract for an uncapped 4 Mbps ADLS line with Telkom but each and every month I have to settle for a 2 Mbps line at times.
For the past two months there will be a couple of days where I am left without any service. However the situation has escalated to a couple of days to a week or two – currently sitting on 3 weeks now, approaching 4.
I have logged “faults” which have been attended to with no joy on my side. The most recent fault was logged on the 13th and up to date I still have no service.
I then get a bill stipulating that I will be billed an amount of R 607.03 for a line I have not had the joy of using.
I then called into the contact center to follow up on my request and was advised that it is still in progress and that technicians have been sent out to my residential address.
I signed up for a 24 month 4mbps line and have not had the joy of enjoying just that, when I asked how I would go about cancelling the contract – I was advised that I will be charged a cancellation fee for the remaining term. So in essence I will be charged for a service I have not had the joy of using.
I am not going to make use of the pointless Telkom portal as this matter is not going to be dealt with accordingly.
I would just like to cancel my contract with immediate effect and don’t see why I should be held accountable for cancellation penalties if Telkom cannot adhere to the agreement of providing a satisfactory service. If this matter is not attended to, I will escalate the matter further.
Regards, Dissatisfied client.
