Telkom Contracts - NO customer service - be warned

I downgraded my Telkom LTE Package from 100Gb to 50Gb due to the lower costs in January 2018. This was confirmed and I received an sms that downgrade is confirmed. The person that did the downgrade then accidentally opened a second contract for the 50Gb and I now receive double bills. I logged this from January and called them to resolve. They promised it will be rectified and I still have to call every 2 weeks since January and they promise every time and still deduct the double bill. It is going on now for the 5th month. The staff is completely *********** and Telkom don't care. I cannot find a senior manager to call and fight now daily with call-centre staff that is clueless.

Reviewer Update
Hi Telkom/Igsaan. I finally gave up solving my account issues with you after a 7 month saga as shown below. I stopped your debit order at my bank and if need be will close my bank account to stop you from *******ly withdrawing my money from my account. Below is all my efforts that was in vain as nobody in Telkom and I repeat NOBODY care to deliver customer service and there is no ethics involved in Telkom. This is where it started. I was on a 100GB LTE package for R1058.00 pm. Telkom gave the option in January to downgrade to the 50Gb package and get an additional 50Gb free at a cost of R749.00. The reference below is where I did this and the sales lady confirmed that the downgrade will happen in the next day and confirmed my new monthly payment of R749.00. I challenge Telkom to review the recording based on this reference Ref nr was ********** 1A for the downgrade/migration of my LTE 100Gb to 50Gb package This was confirmed by the operator after I confirmed a number of times that this is a downgrade/migration and the operator confirmed my new premium for the downgrade 50Gb package. The next day I received a sms that the downgrade has been completed. The person that did the downgrade, after confirmation that I will now be on the lower cost, appeared to have opened a second contract for the 50Gb in my name and I now receive double bills. I am a retired person and my wife and I are the only people that use the internet in my household and the 50Gb was sufficient for our needs, as the higher cost was difficult to keep up with and justify. I logged a complaint when I noticed a double deduction on 14 February 2018 with reference ********** 0 and told Telkom to listen to the recording and rectify the operator’s mistake. They confirmed the problem and told me it will be rectified. In March 2018 they again deducted a double payment and I once again called in March 2018 and again Telkom confirmed that it will be rectified and the amount be refunded. I noted the double deduction again in April 2018 and called again and they told me the same story with promises that it will be resolved with a refund. This again happened in May 2018 and I called again. They told me that call ref ********** 0 was closed without any reason. I then logged another call on 7th May 2018. Ref ********** 6. I received the same promises and requested to speak to a manager. A call centre supervisor responded and said the matter will be resolved. I visited the Telkom Galleria branch as the telephonic call centre calls had no effect. The person at Telkom Galleria confirmed that my previous calls where closed. He then logged a new call and informed that it was escalated via e-mail to senior staff and that it is impossible to talk to any senior person and that even the Telkom stores have no access to any senior staff telephonically to resolve any matters. Every single operator informed me that they escalated my problem to accounts and a manager and that they cannot resolve it personally, but promised to follow up and escalate to the accounts department, as well as a senior person and it will be resolved by the accounts department. Nobody from Telkom called me to date and they are clearly not in the least concerned to respond. As far as this matter is concerned, the staff is completely *********** and Telkom does not care. I cannot find a senior manager to talk to or call and am now weekly fighting with call-centre staff who seems to be clueless. I called again on 25 June 2018 - I now spoke to Nokuthula Hlongwane and she promised to escalate until it is resolved. She asked me to e-mail her and her manager and she provided both e-mail addresses. Here is my references with dates that I called Telkom call centre: Call Ref ********** 1A 24 Jan 2018 Downgrade/Migrate to lower package Call Ref ********** 0 14 Feb 2018 Called and operator informed me that it will be resolved with a refund Call Ref ********** 6 07 May 2018 Called and operator again informed me that it will be resolved with a refund. Call Ref ********** 6 11 May 2018 Called and operator informed me that it will be resolved with a refund. I also logged a call to hellopeter. 18 May 2018 Operator Sanilise informed me that they are busy to finalise and will update me soon. 25 May 2018 Operator Nuekhosi – Supervisor Lotoya Parker. This operator promised me that she will personally call me the next day and that it will be resolved. Her supervisor was online with her and told her to tell me that they understand my total frustration, but that none of them have access to any senior person other than an e-mail address and that they will ensure my case is resolved. Never to be heard of again. Call Ref AI ********** 26 May 2018 Igsaan from Telkom Social Media responded on my complaint to hellopeter that the matter was escalated with a reference AI ********** and that it will be attended to soon with feedback to me. Yet again another empty promise, as still no response from Telkom. Here is the link to Telkom’s response on hellopeter https://www.hellopeter.com/telkom/reviews/telkom-contracts-no-customer-service-be-warned- ********** Double deduction again. 11 June 2018 Called, but nobody answered 15 June called. Call centre had technical error and would not transfer ` calls to the operators. 25 June 2018 12:20. Talking to a Nokuthula Hlongwane and explain the 6 month saga. She asked me to e-mail her and her manager Audricia Rampersad and promised that they will escalate until my problem is resolved. 25 June 2018 E-mailed Nokuthula Hlongwane and Audricia Rampersad to follow up after their promise to resolve the Telkom error. – No response 28 June 2018 E-mailed Nokuthula Hlongwane and Audricia Rampersad again to follow up after their promise to resolve the Telkom error. – No response 30 June 2018 E-mailed Nokuthula Hlongwane and Audricia Rampersad again to follow up after their promise to resolve the Telkom error. – No response 6 July 2018 E-mailed Nokuthula Hlongwane and Audricia Rampersad again to follow up after their promise to resolve the Telkom error. – No response 23 July 2018 E-mailed Nokuthula Hlongwane and Audricia Rampersad again to follow up after their promise to resolve the Telkom error. – No response I have proof of all these e-mail conversations. Telkom’s supervisor read my e-mail as per below and also did not bother to follow up as promised. Your message To: Audricia Rampersad (AR) Subject: RE: case follow up Sent: Monday, July 23, 2018 9:27:15 AM (UTC+02:00) Harare, Pretoria was read on Saturday, July 28, 2018 12:03:49 AM (UTC+02:00) Harare, Pretoria. I am without options to further approach Telkom and therefore stopped the debit order at my bank. If needs be, I will close my bank account to stop this ******* deduction without my consent. Telkom have now deducted in total since February 2018 an additional unauthorised amount of over R5600.00.
