Telkom contract is a ****

I had a contract with Telkom and while I had a contract a friend took a phone under my profile the debit order was deducted from his own bank account. I lost my Sim card telkom refused to give me a Sim swop though my account was up to date. They told me because the other party contract was not up to date. I paid my contract without using it till end of contract. When I asked for my contact to be cancelled as it expired I was told that it can only be cancelled once the other party contract has been settled. My question is what am I paying for. No Sim card from telkom yet they are still going to my bank account.
