Telkom contract cancellation nightmare

Dear sir/madam, I hope this we meet you well. My name is Patrick, I am a student at the University of Johannesburg doing Postgraduate in Electrical engineering.

I decided to take a contract with Telkom in January 2017 to progress easily in my research but, after 3 months I move out where I was staying and wanted to upgrade my contract from 10Gb/month to Uncaped because I wanted to share it with my neighbors.

I went to Telkom in Cresta Mall more than 3 times but they didn't accept to do it. Thus, my lessor decided to take the fiber for all of us. In this case, I was not able to pay twice for the same product.

I decided to cancel my contract. You have to know that after this date of cancellation the WIFI I was used was stopped immediately by Telkom but my account was continuous to be debited every month until I decided to block it in ABSA bank despite the fact that they still have my deposit (R700).

I tried to call Telkom much time, I went to their agency in Cresta mall in Johannesburg, nothing has been done. In that agency in Cresta, the customer service asked me to sort out this matter by phone. In the beginning, the call was going true but after a week they were asked me my ID number which I don't have.

Went I provide my passport number, I was not able anymore to discuss with customer service and the customer's service call was not free means, I spent a lot of airtime to try to sort out this matter.

3 months after they were not able to remove money in my account, I received an email from ''NuDebt management'', I discussed with them via email, WhatsApp and the last time was the call. The lady in charge of that, understood very well the issue and she says to me, to stop worry myself, she will talk to them at the next meeting.

Since that call, I didn't receive any call or email from anyone except this last day I received you SMS.

I am a student and Telkom can't ask me to pay more than two years contract money because I canceled my contract after using it for three months and after they continued to remove money in my account despite the fact that the contract was canceled.

The contract was stipuled that I will pay R299/month but after all this problem, when I was talking with NuDebt management, I received an email that mentions that I will have to pay R7500. This is not fair because the wifi was stopped, I can pay for the modem but who is going to pay for more than 3 months they were removing money into my account when they have stopped providing me with a wifi and they have my deposit?

I guess we will sort out this issue forever because I am here for study not to have a problem with anyone.

At this moment, more than five companies contacted me to recovery that money. Sometimes, they called me at 7h30 in the morning or at 17 o’clock , even on Saturday. I am very scared to what can happen if you don’t help me to stop this abuses Telkom with their partners are doing to me.

I am looking forward to waiting for you Best regards!!!
