Telkom Contract Billing over agreed term

...over 2 years ago I signed up for 2 Telkom contracts, a few months down the line I defaulted on payment due to Telkom Billing me for an extra ********** contract they did in my name. I was put under ITC for not wanting to pay my 2 contracts plus the 1 ********** one until they had it sorted. They cancelled all my contracts & quoted me a full payout of all 3 contracts including the ********** 1, an amount of close to R30 000. Telkom then proceeded to wanting me to pay for the months that I defaulted on ever since the contract was signed for in exchange for them to cancel out the **********ly issued contract that was activated in my name by them. They cited an amount of R7000. I then payed this amount. Now, logically from then I should have carried on with the contract term of 24 months of my 2 contracts which that term would've elapsed in December 2016. Now , these contracts I am told will be running until October 2017, that constitutes a term of way more than the 24 months i signed up for. My question is, why is it that when these lines were re-instated after I payed for Telkom to fix a mistake I didn't make, were re-instated for a term of a further 24 months after I had signed up for the contracts & payed in full the defaulted amount.
