Telkom continue to charge me after cancellation date
I have had the worst service from Telkom.
I wrote the email to cancel my TELKOM account on the 17 August 2017 and attached with it the required cancellation forms and copy of ID in hopes that they would process the cancellation request accordingly.
"Dear Telkom, I would like to cancel my Telkom land line with effect from 30 September 2017. I will be moving to Vumatel Fiber for my internet and no longer require the services of Telkom. Please ensure I am only billed for August 2017 and September 2017. From 1 October 2017 I will NO longer be a Telkom customer. Please respond to this mail in acknowledgement to this instruction and in writing confirm I will not be billed after September. "
My service was cancelled as per the agreed date however Telkom went and deducted an amount of R498 on the 5th October.
I called Telkom to query as to why this happened as I made it VERY clear in the email to them I will not have any bills after September as I won't be a client.
Telkom informed me this will be raised as a dispute.
A month went passed and I never received any refund to me.
On the 6th November 2017 a FURTHER R126.17 gets deducted from my account.
I called Telkom again and I asked to speak to the supervisor as the agents were not helping me. I spoke to Jody Harrison (PE branch) and he informed me that my original dispute had been sitting in the Dispute queue for a whole month being un-actioned. After apologizing he said that he escalated the matter.
Now for the last month I have called Telkom and spoken specifically to Jody on numerous occasions and still to this day have not been paid R624 owing to me.
Over the phone Jody Harrison confirmed that the original issue was that Telkom refunded me the money back into my TELKOM account - which makes no sense as I require the money in my bank account as I am no longer a Telkom client. He has the same excuse each time saying he has "forwarded my matter to people that may assist". It is apparently now sitting with Resolution Centre Management. Only now after 2 months of begging Telkom has it been escalated to people that may or may not be able to help me.
I told Jody Harrison to call the relevant party to assist in helping me get my money back and he has not yet confirmed that this has been done over the phone. Calling the Telkom call centre Jody now does not take my phone calls and gets his agents to handle the issue which is fast becoming personal between Jody and myself.
Can someone higher up than Jody Harrison please contact me urgently to assure me the time and date that my money will be paid back to me. Deducting money from me without my consent NOR providing me a service is theft, and the morally bankrupt nature of those transactions seems to mirror the attitude given by the people you employ.
The landline that I used to have ********** .
